The moratorium on settlement building in the West back is set to expire at midnight Sunday. A crowd of Israeli settlers is expected to arrive the following day to break up the ground with bulldozers. However the Palestinian representative for settlement watch claimed that construction had already begun, before the moratorium was set to expire. 20 caravan homes were already build by Saturday. The Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu asked the settlers on Sunday to show restraint. The end of the moratorium is only 24 hours away. Butdamage has been done and tensions are rising with the Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas. "Isreal must choose between peace and the continuation of settlements," he told the U.N. General Assembly on Saturday. United States Vice President Joe Biden urged Israel to prolong the moratorium, however, Israeli President Shimon Peres said it's a "fair possibility" that the negotiations with the Palestinians will result in a two-state solution.
